Yes, indeed. The easiest way is to create a file with name ".g4session" in your home directory containing lines of the form:

  application-name session-name

For example, mine is:

  Qt  # Default session
  #exampleB1 tcsh
  exampleB2a Xm
  exampleB2b tcsh
  test202 tcsh
  #userVisAction tcsh
  exampleB4a tcsh
  RE03 tcsh
