The plain windows - OpenGL*Win32 or OpenGL*X - are not interactive. You can change what you see with vis commands, such as /vis/viewer/set/viewpointThetaPhi.

If you want an interactive window, there is Open Inventor and Qt (and on Unix systems, Xm). Look at the Installation Guide to see how to install these. You will need to install additional libraries.
