The most elegant way I would like to suggest is creating a messenger
associating to your PrimaryGeneratorAction which takes care a new
command something like
  /myAction/beamOn <numberOfEvent>
Once this command is issued from GUI or batch macro, this messenger
invokes a set method of your PrimaryGeneratorAction to pass an
integer number of the parameter of the command, and then invokes
the actual "beamOn()" method of G4RunManager.
