Is the random number generator in Geant (CLHEP) portable across compiler, OS, etc?
More specifically, I can restore the random number status with `random/resetEngineFrom` and get the same events on the same computer. However, if I take this .rndm file to another machine with a differnt compiler, OS, everything, I get a different sequence of events for the same simulation and initialization file. They both have the same version of Geant. Is this expceted behavior or an indication that something is inconsistent between the two machines?
Thanks in advance!
