I am running a simulation of a scintillator, based on the LXe example. When running 40 million events the simulation ended with a allocation error. I checked the memory consumption of the program and it increases 0.2% per minute until it crashes.
I checked that I delete any object I created using new, and I am putting data in a file regularly. I have tried to find where the memory leak is coming from and by now I only have one idea: When creating many physical volumes with a loop containing:
new G4PVPlacement(rot,G4ThreeVector(x,y,z),pmt_log,"pmt", housing_log,false,k);
do I need to delete it somewhere? If so, how?
I checked that is some examples it is necessary to delete each physical, logical and solid volume, but as it was not included in this example I didn't to it. Do I have to? I don't know so much about Geant, but if anybody has any other idea of what to check I will appreciate it.
