Question Running simulations regarding time instead of a number of event ?

Forum: Run Management

From: Nicolas Maurissen <Nicolas Maurissen>

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if it is possible, in Geant4 9.4 p01, to work with a time as the simulation's limit and the "natural" decay of the source (with a specified activity) instead of using a fixed number of events to simulate (via the /run/beamOn xxx command) like in the GATE code ?

For exemple, I'd like to simulate a 60Co source with a given initial activity and get the energy spectrum obtained for a fixed aquisition's duration as a result of my simulation.

Any advice will be really appreciated !
