Comparing pseudo-random number generators is either easy or very difficult. If you just want to know that it works and does not have any obvious flaws, that's easy. To quantitatively compare them in detail is hard. The Geant4 default (from CLHEP) is an excellent generator, and by seeding it with the event number you can make it easy to run many statistically independent jobs in parallel by simply arranging they use non-overlapping sequences of event numbers (which you probably need to do anyway).
