I am using Geant4 10.3 for neutron shielding calculations. In this connection I encountered an issue when using "Shielding" as my physics list combined with the importance sampling technique. In contrast to other physics list such as "QGSP_BERT_HP" or "QGSP_BIC_HP" I found a huge excess of gamma radiation in the MeV region. A closer inspection revealed that these gammas originate from radioactive decays. I also saw that the extra gammas all have a weight of 1 whereas other particles (mainly neutrons and gammas from other sources) have weights in the order of 10^-4 at this position. Is it possible that the radioactive decay ignores the weight of the neutron which activated the atomic nucleus?
