Problem SOLVED.

Thanks for the help. I did also get some advice by private message. Determining which forum is always tricky, you're right, EM may have been a better fit.

The problem has been solve, in short, the reason was that secondaries were leaking out the sides of my wall and around to my sensitive volume, adding dose that I didn't want. I had thought the walls were large enough, but they were not. I now have a roof/floor which prevents secondaries that leak from coming back into my volume -- It is also what the 'real' set-up would have!
