Dear Geant4 community,
I am using Geant4.9.6.p01. My simulations consist of 12C ions of 1140 MeV. These ions travel through a variable thickness of PMMA and after collide to a silicon detector of 10um. In the silicon detetor I get only the energy deposited by the primary 12C ions (7um SetCut) for each PMMA thickness. The aim of these simulations is to calculate different deposited energies in the silicon detector for various thickness of PMMA and after that construct the Bragg Peak curve.
My question is about the shape I get on edep histogram for the QGSP_BIC_EMY. The histograms attached are for 20mm PMMA. For 20mm PMMA we are close to deposite the larger energy in the silicon detector and in it is where I get a second peak which I do not understand... Could anyone help me with this second peak? Is it because a wrong wrong physics list? Does it have relation with fragmentation(although I only take into account ParentID=0)?
I also have tried "shielding" and a modular PhysicList done by me. But sometimes the results are different and I do not know what physics is the best..
