Question Shielding calculation with radioactive waste

I am an absolute beginner with Geant 4 and I am still reading the user's guide for application developers.

I am envisaging to make a Monte-Carlo shielding calculation involving some scratch hardware from the core of a BWR contained in a cask for transport and storage of radioactive material. There would be alpha, beta and gamma. In principle, knowing the nuclide vectors of the waste I should predict the ambient dose equivalent rate in certain positions close to the casks, outside of them.

Do you think that Geant4 is fit for such a calculation ?

If yes, I am prepared to program the physics list by myself, if necessary. But do you think that any of the physics lists available in the libraries can be suitable for my case ?
