Hello,

I performed simulations on backscattering of positrons in the energy range (1-30)keV.

The total backscattering probability was in very good agreement for release 9.4, but after the upgrade to release 9.5 it is overestimated by (5-8)% in the range (6-30)keV and at lower energies also the trend is different (see attachment, backscattering probability in gold). The same behavior as in 9.5 was observed for release 9.6 (not shown in the plot).

In both cases (9.4 and 9.5) I have used the PENELOPE classes for low energy electromagnetic processes.

I really appreciate any suggestion to understand this discrepancy.

Thank you very much!

Luca
