Hi I have a question about how geant4 handles the tracking of neutrons to zero energy.

In my current program, I am doing the data collection in the G4UserStepping action class:

  void APIdrdcSteppingAction::UserSteppingAction(const G4Step* aStep){

    const G4Track* aTrack = aStep->GetTrack();

    //Only deals with neutrons
    if(aTrack->GetDefinition()!=G4Neutron::NeutronDefinition()) 
       return;

    //Only deals with neutrons in the epithermal range
    if( (aTrack->GetKineticEnergy()/eV) > 0.1 )
       return;

    //Next collect a single event of interest:
    (==> SAVING AN EPITHERMAL NEUTRON EVENT HERE...)

I was analyzing at the distribution of epithermal neutrons along the z coordinate and comparing it to the distribution of actual captured neutrons (procname=nCapture) and I noticed the thermal capture distribution was larger than the epithermal distribution recorded by a factor of roughly 1.5

My question is, do I need to redefined the energy threshold cuts for neutrons? I understand default cuts are mainly to set a threshold for generation of secondary particles. I wonder if there is a cut for actual particle transport.

I would appreciate if anybody could elucidate on this matter.
