This thread is related to http://hypernews.slac.stanford.edu/HyperNews/geant4/get/AUX/2011/07/01/05.57-73807-forum.txt but I wanted to report it elsewhere not to mix everything.

To track secondary electrons produced by ionisation process, I've played with energy threshold of ParticleCutsTable. I've found that with 60eV I have secondaries, and with 50eV or lower Geant cannot track them I outputs eror messages ... but program ends normally. I've tried to tune that value. Here are my conclusion, for incident alpha with 1500keV kinetic energy interacting in argon gaz :

Ø Emin=59.267eV : program runs normally and secondaries are generated

Ø Emin=59.265eV : program runs with error messages but ends normally. no e- generated

Ø Emin=59.266eV : program runs with continuous error messages and does not stop. In my output file interactions of first event alpha are printed and it is stopped just before tracking e- (compared with previous runs). Here is the error message, contnuously repeated:
