We use the following setup in our lab to create the polarized x-ray first and then measure the polarization of this polarized x-ray by our polarimeter. Unpolarized 662kev X-ray beam scattered off the top lead brick with a scattering angle ~90degree to get polarized X-ray beam. Then the polarized beam hit and scattered in a scintillator rod, then deposited energy in absorber detectors. We select the events with a trigger in scintillator and a 100~330 kev energy deposition in absorber detectors.
Phi-distribution (scattering angle) is not shown in the simulation while perfectly shown in lab measurement. Why we can get the perfect phi-distribution in lab, but cannot by the simulation? So, I was wondering, when we created the polarized x-ray by compton scattering in the top brick, do the photons have the polarization information?
