Question Muon Ionization spin problem

Forum: Physics List
Date: 25 Jan, 2011
From: Pietro Bonfa' <Pietro Bonfa'>

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to simulate a muSR experiment with Geant4. Everything works as expected but spin polarization during implantation: I want muon spin to remain (almost) polarized during energy loss in sample (mu ionization process and mu multiple scattering) but, when at rest in the sample, muon spin polarization is completely lost.

I'm shooting ~4MeV muons to an iron sample.

Is there a way to tell ionization process not to touch the spin?

Thanks in advances,
regards,
Pietro Bonfa'
