Hi Manuel,

Colin provides an excellent suggestion. If you just need a simpler method to get started with Geant4 for now, the most robust (and certainly easiest) method is to use on of the prebuilt physics lists included in the Geant4 distribution. You should ensure via the documentation that it meets your exact needs; however, the prebuilt lists cover much of the physics required by G4 users.

The prebuilt list you want is probably "QGSP_BERT_HP.cc" or "QGSP_BIC_HP.cc"

QGSP=Quark Gluon String Parton model BERT=Bertini Cascade for hadronic showers BIC=Geant4 Binary Ion Cascade for hadronic showers HP=High Precision (neutron transport)

The HP data-driven model will be used for neutrons at 0-20 MeV; models will used above 20 MeV (the data only goes up to 20 MeV);

Either of these models implements a pretty complete range of EM processes and particle decay. You can include them by the following code in your main *.cc file:

  ...
  #include "QGSP_BERT_HP.cc"
  ...
  int main()
  {
   ...
   // other code
   ...
   G4RunManager *runManager = new G4RunManager;
   runManager->SetUserInitialization(new QGSP_BERT_HP);
   ...
  }

Please look at the G4 documentation for more on physics lists and to make sure that the prebuilt list you use covers your application:
