Question nucleus not found - very perplexed

Forum: Physics List
Date: 05 Jun, 2010
From: John McFee <John McFee>

I am doing a simulation generating 12 MeV photons which interact with a block containing H, C, O, N atoms in air (density 2 g/cc). Rarely (a few times per 10^9 photons) the simulation stops with the message:

The Nucleus B11[0.0] was not found in the enumeration list of nuclei. Please add it and re-run. Enter any character to continue.

When I enter a character the simulation carries on OK. I also get the same message with S32 in place of B11. I cannot think of reactions that would easily generate either B11 or S32. (12C(Gamma, p)11B Q value is 16MeV). If I put the block of material in sand, I do not get the message.

I am puzzled. Any ideas?
