Hi,

the LHEP list is using parametrized modeling only, which in geant4, for reactions above about 50 GeV, is indeed not totally dissimilar to GHEISHA. You are likely to get similar precision for energy resolutions, but somewhat better predictions for e/pi, better signal energy dependence, and a lower (somewhat too low I'ld guess) absolute normalization.

From your link, I conclude that you are into linear collider detector simulation. Here I am still trying to work out, what I can actually recommend as my 'educated guess'. Your calorimeters are really interesting devices, and non-trivial to simulate. I'ld try one of the theory based physics lists as a starting point, but likely you will want to also build in one or the other of the cascade codes at low energies. Using neutron_hp will likely be overkill for final states in neutron interactions. You may want to consider it for the cross-sections, though.
