I'm a first year PhD student and I'm using geant4 for the first time, so apologies if anything asked here is obvious! I'm trying to test my simulation and am running a test to check that fluorescence is working as expected. So far I am receiving the following KE data from gammas off aluminium: Energy (keV) Counts CreatorProcess ============================================= 1.46917 1480 LowEnPhotoElec 1.4687 3104 LowEnPhotoElec 1.54502 8 LowEnPhotoElec 1 .54503 22 LowEnPhotoElec (Aluminium has Kalpha1 = 1.487 keV Kalpha2 = 1.486 keV Kbeta1 = 1.553 keV) My problems are as follows: 1. I am using the physics list from the X-ray telescope example. I don't really know how to turn fluorescence on or off (or auger, although I think that that is on as it says so in the cmd window). Will fluorescence be included in the LowEnPhotoElec or do I need to specify it is true? 2. To what accuracy should I be expecting output data to match the expected data values? I know that geant4 is made for particle physicists, so a few eV here or there is no problem, but I would like to be able to resolve the Kalpha1 and Kalpha2 lines and, as they don't really match up (and I am not certain that they are fluorescence) I don't really know how to do this?
