Hi.
Thank you for your suggestion.
I'm using OpenGLXm to visualize my detector and I think that it is not 
accurate enough to see if there is a small problem in the geometry.
I'll try with yours.

In any case I solved my problem when I changed the beam direction
from x to z: in this way I was not forced to rotate the light guide 
which is a trapezoid whose main axis is (by definition, in its 
constructor) along z. I suppose that there is some accuracy
problem with the rotation matrix. After removing the rotation and changing
 the beam direction, hits became to appear on all the photodiode surface.
