Hi everyone, I have been doing simulations for radiation protection using the LHEP_PRECO_HP physics list, and up until now that has appeared to be adequate. I have been extending my simulations to use a variety of different converter materials apart from the polyethylene used previously.
The problem I have encountered so far is that using this physics list the simulation behaves as expected using polyethylene and no converter material as well as when I am using lithium as a converter material, however when I have tried using other materials such as Boron-10, and other materials that are supposed to produce fission products, as a converter it does not behave as expected and when I have used tracking (Depending on the material) all I see from a reaction are neutrons from a fission or inelastic reaction and the associated gammas produced.
I have realised that this is due to the physics list I am using not producing the fission reaction ions for detection or the products from certain inelastic reactions.
I have tried to write my own physics list but I am having trouble getting it to work with the particles and processes I require: Particles: Gamma Electron Positron Proton Neutron
Processes: Full EM Hadronic Elastic, Inelastic, Capture, Fission, Recoil, alpha emission plus any other hadron induced reactions.
Could somebody please point me in the right direction regarding the construction of such a physics list or if there is such a list already available in GEANT4 that I have missed.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
