Why I can not produce alpha particles in the material of BF3? In the experiments relationship of neutron, BF3 is one of the sensitive materials. Basis on the process, 10B + n „³ 7Li + 4He To detector how to produce alpha particles, I established a very simple cube geometry which is filled with BF3 as the sensitive detector. The parameters as following: G4Element* eB = new G4Element(¡§Boron¡¨, symbol=¡¨B¡¨ , z= 5. , a= 10.81*g/mole); G4Element* eF = new G4Element(¡§Fluorine¡¨, symbol=¡¨F¡¨ , z= 9. , a= 19.00*g/mole); Density = 2.84e-3*g/cm3 In the new material, I have eB of 95% and eF of 5%. During the simulation, neutron was as the Gun particle. It had the energy from 0.1eV to 1Gev. No matter how I changed the position and energy, and its quantity, I can not get any alpha particles. I changed the material from BF3 to lead. The simulation did well. I can get a quantity of protons, electrons, gammas and alphas. That means my G4 procedure can work normally. As the result, I have to question my physics list is correct or not. This time I use the physics list of G4 example N04 which is the only one example of hadrons in G4 system. However, the result is same. I can not find out where is wrong. I want to know whether G4 can work on BF3 well. I want to get a help. Thank you.
