I am looking at the energy deposition in an ionization chamber, filling gas is nitrogen at 1.1 bar.

For the test I used protons at 100 MeV. Materials are:

G4Material* Vacuum = new G4Material("Galactic", z=1.,a=1.01*g/mole,density= 5.e-13*g/cm3,kStateGas, 1.e-9*bar,293.15*kelvin);

G4Element* Fe = new G4Element("Ferum", "Fe", z=26., a= 55.85*g/mole); G4Element* Cr = new G4Element("Crome","Cr", z=24., a= 52.00*g/mole); G4Element* Ni = new G4Element("Nickel","Ni", z=28., a= 58.69*g/mole);

G4Material * SSteel = new G4Material("StainlessSteel", density= 8.03*g/cm3,ncomponents=3); SSteel->AddElement(Fe, 75*perCent); SSteel->AddElement(Cr, 17*perCent); SSteel->AddElement(Ni, 8*perCent);

G4Material* Al = new G4Material("Aluminium", z=13., a=26.98*g/mole, density=2.700*g/cm3);

G4Material* N2= new G4Material("Nitrogen_Gas", z=14., a= 28.01*g/mole, density= 1.281*kg/m3,kStateGas, temperature= 293.15*kelvin, pressure= 1.1*atmosphere);

G4Material* SiO2 = new G4Material("quartz",density= 2.200*g/cm3, ncomponents=2); SiO2->AddElement(Si, natoms=1); SiO2->AddElement(O , natoms=2);

Physics list is QGSP.

SetCut 0.01 mm

The geometry is done so that no parts touch each other. (spacing is most of the time 0.01 mm or less)
