Question User Interface Command "/physics_engine/tailor/GammaNuclear"

Forum: Physics List
Date: 08 Feb, 2006
From: Adrian Vogel <>

I saw that there is a user interface command "/physics_engine/tailor/GammaNuclear on|off" (and a similar one for synchrotron radiation). However, I could not find any further information on this in the manual, the examples, or the forum. I saw that the default value of both commands is "false", but the data member "G4EmExtraPhysics::gammNucOn" is initialised to "true", whereas "G4EmExtraPhysics::synchOn" is initialised to "false". "G4EmMessenger::GetCurrentValue" is unfortunately not implemented.

Is it right that one will get photonuclear / electronuclear reactions, but no synchrotron radiation by default (i. e. without calling the above commands)? Does this hold for all built-in physics lists?

Thanks in advance,
