Question Strange line in gamma spectrum (PhysicsList QGSP_BIC_HP)

Forum: Physics List
Date: Apr 01, 01:37
From: Boris <Boris>

When we use PhysicsList QGSP_BIC irradiating the Al target with 14 MeV neutrons, lines in secondary gamma spectrum coincide with experimental data: 844 keV, 1014 keV, 2212 keV and 3005 keV.
When PhysicsList QGSP_BIC_HP is used strange extra spectral lines arise (1100 keV and 1500 keV).
Examples:
Parent: neutron energy (MeV): 14.1
process: neutronInelastic
--Secondaries-------------------------:
 Particle: neutron Energy (MeV): 11.6753
 Particle: Al27 Energy (MeV): 0.219595
 Particle: gamma Energy (MeV): 1.10257
 Particle: gamma Energy (MeV): 1.10257

Parent: neutron energy (MeV): 14.1
process: neutronInelastic
--Secondaries-------------------------:
 Particle: neutron Energy (MeV): 9.52283
 Particle: Al27 Energy (MeV): 1.57886
 Particle: gamma Energy (MeV): 1.49915
 Particle: gamma Energy (MeV): 1.49915

It seems that instead of the 2.2 MeV gamma, two 1.1 MeV gammas appear. The same for gamma-lines 3.0 MeV and 1.5 MeV. Is it a bug? (GEANT4 version 4.10.03)
