I am learning Geant4 by editing files I already have. My simulation is very basic: a NaI scintillation detector facing a Cs-137 source. I am trying to simulate the energy spectrum.
Although I am getting acceptable spectrum (see attached for E_deposited with no Gaussian broadening), I am afraid whether I am using correct physics list. I see "G4VModularPhysicsList* physicsList = new QGSP_BIC_HP;" written in my main program. I find no other physics list file. Would this be a sufficient physics list for my situation. Is this the way you define physics list? Or it is somewhere that I have to look into?
I see papers specifying that they used "G4EmPenelopePhysics" OR that they include the Livermore models for photoelectric absorption, Compton scattering, and pair production. Am I doing it right? Or how/where do they include PenelopePhysics?
