Question Memory of Hit collection not released. memory leak

Forum: Persistency
Date: 18 May, 2011
From: Hans Wenzel <Hans Wenzel>

Hi

I think I followed the standard example, to make a volume sensitive and to fill a hit collection. The problem that I am observing is that the memory taken by the hits is not released when an event is finished and so the used memory is just growing with each event. Has anyone observed this

The geant 4 version I am using is:

geant4.9.4.p01

In the end I decided that I fill root trees directly (no memory leak) But if there is a problem with the mechanism it should be fixed.

Hans

The code can be browse at:

http://cdcvs.fnal.gov/cgi-bin/public-cvs/cvsweb-public.cgi/DRCalG/?cvsroot=ilcdet

and checked out with the following command.

export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cdcvs.fnal.gov:/cvs/ilcdet

Then login (ilcdet is the password)

cvs login

ilcdet

cvs co DRCalGH cd DRCalGH source setup.sh

To run i: DRCalGH electrons.mac
