Hi Andrew

You can also use the G4GeneralParticleSource (GPS) instead of the simple G4ParticleGun (an example is in examples/advanced/xray_telescope).

Then, without writing new C++ code, you just specify in the macro file

a point source

(/gps/type Point) (Uppercase),

pointing at your detector

(setting the /gps/angrot1 and /gps/angrot2 vectors),

with isotropic angular distribution

(/gps/angtype iso),

limited in theta

(/gps/maxtheta 1.2345 deg).

The documentation of the current GPS is at the URL

A new version of the GPS is being developed by Fan Lei and will be included in the release 6.2 this June, with slightly changed macro command syntax but with also backward compatibility.
