Question Diverging Beam

Keywords: diverging, proton

I have a question regarding diverging beams. At present my simulation of a proton beam has the beam entering the geometry with a direction directly along the z axis (i.e. all incident particles were notmal to the x/y interface). However, I would like to simulate a diverging beam, but have no idea how to go about it.

I know the line

  G4ThreeVector direction = G4ThreeVector(0.0,0.0,-1.0);

Determines the direction of the beam. Any alteration to this will simply change the direction, so do I need to use an extra line?
