Question Application freeze when using /gps/pos/confine

Hi,

i'am using a modified TestEm5 example with a GPS to simulate electron transport and X-ray production below 20 keV. I'am using Geant4.9.6p02 with penelope physics.

The simulation seems to work fine except when i'am using the /gps/pos/confine command. I'am trying to configure a conical shaped surface source. Therefore i configured a conical volume (wall thickness about 10um) with a fWorldMaterial and a cylindrical source which is big enough to include the conical volume. Then i confined the GPS source to this volume. When i simulate about 100 events everythings seems to work fine. In the vrml file the event generation is in the right place.

But as soon as i'am trying to simulate more events (1E9 without vrml generation ;-)) the simulation freezes without any error message. Four simulations stopped after several 10^4 events. The cpu usage is still high, so something is calculated.

Simulation runs without source confinement seem to work fine.

Can you give me some hint how to tackle this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Greetings, Marco
