Thanks for the reply Jeremy.

Unfortunately what you suggested is the inverse of what I'm trying to achieve. This would make the beams focal point at my sensitive detector. I'd like to be able to have particles start from the same position but have a direction that is somewhere within a radius having the same size as my sensitive detector.
