If you insist on using GPS then, I am afraid, you'll have to debug/understand the code following this line:

I have not been able to find an example using:

/gps/ang/surfnorm true

either in G4 examples or in the GPS example section of the GPS manual. I'll bring your post to the attention of the expert.
