None source distribution type GPS

Hi everybody, I am trying to simulate a diverging photon beam with user defined energy histogram using GPS. I defined the source as point source with iso angular distribution with limited theta (/gps/ang/maxtheta)and phi and obtained fairly good results. In online manual there is another source distribution type "Beam" and I thought may be that could be an alternative for "point" resulting to a better outcome. Could anyone help me what exactly the distribution of the 'Beam' type is and that if Beam is a diverging beam whose divergence is defined by sigma_x and sigma_y?

Cheers Leila
