Hi Oliver,

I presume that your phase space is binned: dx, dy, dpx, dpy, dpz and that N can be interpreted as some normalized strength. But even if you want to simulate the exact number of N particles for each entry, you'll probably want to simulate not all N particles coming from the edge of your phase space bins. Instead, you'll probably want to sample them randomly between x_i to x_i+1, px_i to px_i+1 etc. So, I'd suggest you loop over N in your PrimaryGeneratorAction with particleGun->SetNumberOfParticles(1), sample within the bin randomly, before moving on to the next file entry.

You can also loop over r*N_i with r>1 if you need more statistics.

Just my two cents.

Peter
