Thank you very much for your quick reply

In the first method that I used, my Physics List had the Radioactive Decay process registered, and I created the Co 60 source by /gps/ion 27 60.

I tried incorporating the exact code from the rdecay01 physics list for the decay process. but it gave errors for setHLThreshold, setICM and setARM commands. I believe the rdecay01 is made for geant4.9.4? I am using geant4.9.1 .

In your reply, you mentioned about applying smearing. Can you please elaborate on that further?
