As far as I know, the GPS only generates its own tracks, and cannot read existing files containing tracks.

An existing example of doing this is G4beamline, which is able to read a Root file TNtuple as its initial beam. The relevant file is source/src/BLCMDbeam.cc, and its source is available at http://g4beamline.muonsinc.com
