Question Energy / nucleon for heavy ion therapy simulation

Forum: Particles
Date: 10 Dec, 2010
From: <HadronTherapy_Aachen>

Hey everybody,

I am trying to use C12 ions as primary particles for our heavy ion therapy simulation. I want to have 190 MeV / nucleon for my primaries, that is about 12*190 MeV = 2280 MeV. If use (in PrimaryGeneratorAction) G4double MeanKineticEnergy = 190.00*MeV/amu; I get kinetic energies for my C12 ions which are far too high (up to 18000 MeV).

Am I misunderstanding something?

Thanks in advance for any reply.
