Question Cut-Regions for reflected volumes

Keywords: cuts region reflections reflectionfactory
Forum: Particles
Date: 22 Sep, 2003
From: Martin Liendl <Martin Liendl>

How does one get G4Regions into reflected parts of the detector?

When the G4ReflectionFactory is used in constructing the geometry, it
sometimes creates new (reflected) sub-trees of the detector if a
reflection-matrix is used. For example, if A,B,C,E,F are
and I create a hierarchy as follows:

     / \
 (rot) (ref)
     \ /
     / \
    E F

Furthermore, I want to have B in a G4Region, and F in another G4Region.

The G4ReflectionFactory produces silently some new G4LogicalVolumes,
and the geometrical structure is changes to this:

      / \
   (rot) (rot2)
     | |
     B B_refl
     | |
     C C_refl
    / \ / \
   E F E_refl F_refl

But the regions are not applied to the reflected hierarchy ....

Am I correct, or did I miss something in the documentation
of G4Region & related classes?
