Question how to use included radioactive decay tables?

Keywords: radioactive decay, access to G4NDL
Forum: Particles

i'm trying to simulate the decay of a couple of isotopes in a material.
i included G4Decay and G4RadioactiveDecay to my physics list. in
PrimaryGeneratorAction i define my isotope via e.g.:

 G4ParticleTable* particleTable = G4ParticleTable::GetParticleTable();
  G4String particleName;
  G4ParticleDefinition* particle;
  particle= particleTable->GetIon(56,133,0.0);
  particle->SetPDGStable(false);
  particleGun->SetParticleDefinition(particle);

now, obviously i have to access the G4NDL data at some point. so
a) how do i do that and
b) what do i do with it, i.e. will starting the isotope as a
GenericIon be sufficient to get the right 'channel distribution' or
do i have to choose my decay channel by applying a rnd generator according
to the branching ratios or something like that?
all i found was the 'unstable phosphor' entry, where apparently all the
decay information was put in manually.
thx for your help
cheers
frank
