Question G4RadioactiveDecay for beta-decay

Keywords: G4Radioactive Decay, beta-spectrum
Forum: Particles
Date: 10 Mar, 2005
From: Ilya Kraev <ilya.kraev@fys.kuleuven.ac.be>

Dear GEANTers,

Could someone please provide the details on usage of G4RadioactiveDecay for the generation of beta-spectrum? In the Physics Reference Manual it's told that "G4RadioactiveDecay and associated classes are used to simulate the decay of radioactive nuclei by alfa, beta+ , and beat- emission and by electron capture (EC). The simulation model is empirical and data-driven, and uses the Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF)". How does it use this file and how to define the exact nuclei for which I'd like to generate beta-spectrum?

Thanks a lot, Ilya.
