That is correct. You probably want to read the relevant sections of the Geant4 Application Developers Guide:

There has also been another discussion of a similar situation (http://hypernews.slac.stanford.edu/HyperNews/geant4/get/emprocess/1523.html). There are possible workarounds, but none of them are official, and may cause other kinds of problems which would render your physics simulation invalid.
