Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons

I'm a new user of Geant4. I'm using geant4 version 4.5.2 p02, compiled with g++ under Linux Redhat 9.0.

I'm studying the propagation of optical photon of scintillation in a scintillator. I have a problem with the propogation of optical photons. They are secondary particles from electrons created by Photoelectric effect, the electrons are also secondary particles from the original gamma particles created by the by Rayleigh scatering and .... The optical photons propogate through the scintillating material but don't cross the boundary between the scintillating material and the optical fibers. First, I have defined the refractive index of the both materials. Then I've tryed to define a skin surface or a border surface. But there is the sam eproblem.

Is this due to setting something up incorretly?
