Question Scinitllation process in a non-scintillating material

I am trying to simulate the optical properties of a PbF2 crystal starting from the OpNovice example.

In the G4MaterialPropertiesTable for PbF2 I only included the refractive index (RINDEX) and absorption length (ABSLENGTH) properties and was therefore expecting to produce optical photons only via the Cerenkov effect.

Nevertheless looking at the tracking information I noticed that in several occasions the Scintillation process appears in the list, as in:

If I look at the list of optical photons produced, apparently all of them come from the Cerenkov process, so I guess that the Scintillation process is not really doing anything.

Is this the expected behaviour?
