Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. If you are only interested in one thread or the thread following a specific posting, click the thread or the posting, which takes you to a smaller page, which contains only the part you are interested in and may be easier to navigate.
Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.
Inline: Display the subject line only or also the text of the posting(s); for the choice "All" the "Outline" choices are switched off.

I just downloaded the latest copy of Geant4 onto a new machine and attempted to build a basic optical simulation involving the generation of Cerenkov photons. My current geometry is a world volume, and a single G4Box contained completely in the volume. The Physics List is copied directly from another optical code that runs correctly on this machine. I'm generating a single electron from a GeneralParticleSource and firing it through the G4Box.
When the world volume as a MaterialPropertiesTable with an assigned RINDEX, but the G4Box does not, the simulation runs correctly. If the box has a defined RINDEX, but the world volume does not, the simulation runs correctly. If the world volume AND the G4Box have defined RINDEX values, then the simulation occupies an entire core at 100% utilisation and hangs indefinitely.

I would appreciate any insight into this behaviour - whenever there is a boundary between two materials with defined RINDEX's, my simulation hangs with 100% CPU utilization.
