Question Additional energy deposited in scintillators

Hello all,

I have noticed in my scintillator simulations that more energy is being being deposited than was initially put in. This can easily be seen when using the LXe example (from examples/extended/optical/LXe) the results are shown below:

Input: 500 keV gamma 
    Total energy deposition in scintillator : 1056.25 (keV)

Input: 1000 keV gamma 
    Total energy deposition in scintillator : 2115.9 (keV)

I have also seen the same effect in a CsI(Tl) detector I have produced, where FTFP_BERT and opticalPhysics physics lists are used. The results for that simulation are:

Input: 500 keV gamma 
    Total energy deposition in scintillator : 563.93 (keV)

Input: 1 MeV gamma 
    Total energy deposition in scintillator : 1.12826 (MeV)

If I disable the opticalPhysics list in the CsI simulation the correct energy is deposited.

Am I missing something about how the total energy is calculated here? Or how to use physics lists correctly?
