Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons

Hi All,

I have an application where I want to define a dichroic filter (as a thin slab) which should allow a certain wavelength range to pass through the material (dichroic) and to reflect the rest. It seems to reflect and transmit correctly when light reaches the dichroic from the dieletric side (this was done following the only suggestion in the forum). However, when the transmitted light reaches the end of the dichroic material it stops. I'd like it to continue through the dieletric material by which my dichroic is completely surrounded. So does anyone knows why photons do no continue? Or how can I make it work?

Cheers,
