I am simulating a Li neutron detector with the following mechanism:
The neutron with energy of 1 meV to 10 MeV bombard the LiF and the reaction
6Li + n -> alpha + tritium + 4.78 MeV
take place. The alpha and tritium loss energy and generate photons which will be detected by the PMT.
I defined the SCINTILLATIONYIELD" to be 100./MeV in the detector construction and SetScintillationYieldFactor(1.0) in the physics list. But I found the total generated photons are only 5-8/MeV. Is anyone has any idea on this? Is anywhere else influences the scintillation yield? I have also checked the yield with gamma ray, and it is right, so it seems only charged particle's photon yield is affected.
Attached is my physicslist and detection definition. Most of them are copied from the Hadr04, LXe and OpNovice examples.
