Question Laser energy deposit on Silicon

Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons
Date: 24 Dec, 2015
From: <jeonyboy@gmail.com>

Hello, I am a new geant4 user. I am trying to find out energy deposit by laser on a silicon box and I believe I have to use optical photon.

I have been using a simulation code that I built from Hadr06 example. Is it possible to change the primary beam to gamma to get same results? Found some informations online that they are not the same but they didn't go into details.

Any advice towards the answer would be great.

Thank you for your help.
