Question Runtime material optical properties modification

Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons
Date: 27 Jan, 2015
From: Luis Otiniano <Luis Otiniano>

I'm working on a model of a water Cherenkov detector and I need some calibration parameters of the detector, eg one for the value of the absorption length (a variable between one and zero that multiplies the value of the length of abosrción for pure water)

In /exanple/extended/optical/LXe/src/ an update function is defined that allows run time modification of the detector

void LXeDetectorConstruction::UpdateGeometry(){ ... }

This restarts the optical surface properties for the photomultipliers. Is it possible to do something similar for the optical properties of the materials
